About me
I work as a consultant and advisor for technology and media companies and am an angel investor in startups. I used to be an editor and reporter specializing in business and technology and have 20 years experience of online, newspapers and magazines. This site is where I occasionally scratch the itch to write about my love of cycling. If you're interested in my writing about tech and business check out The Currency.
I moved from media to startups about a decade ago. I became Director of Content at Intercom, where I established the content marketing function and helped build the brand as the customer communication startup grew from $1M to $50M ARR in just 3 years. After that I was Head of Content and Communications at Ramp, the New York fintech, which grew its business 10x during my tenure.

As a journalist I wrote for a range of Irish and international publications and was on the staff of The Irish Times for over a decade, where my roles included Assistant Business Editor, Assistant News Editor and Health Editor. I was also a regular commentator on technology issues for a range of broadcast media including RTE’s flagship Morning Ireland radio show. My reporting from Silicon Valley received the specialist business reporting award from the UCD Smurfit School in 2011.
